Privacy Policy

Who we are

ABWatcher (“we”, “us”) operates the SaaS product at abwatcher.com. This policy explains what personal data we collect from you as a visitor and as a signed-in user, why we collect it, and what your rights are.

What we collect

Account data. When you sign up we store your email address, a hashed password, and the workspace name you create. If you invite teammates we store their email address and role.

Usage data. We record which pages inside the app you open, which tests and companies you interact with, and which features you use, so we can improve the product and diagnose issues. This is tied to your account identifier.

Billing data. If you subscribe to a paid plan, our payment processor (Dodo Payments) handles your card details directly. We store the resulting subscription id and plan tier, and we receive metadata about your transactions (amount, status, renewal date). We never see or store your card number.

Cookies. We use first-party cookies for authentication and preferences. We use Google Tag Manager to load analytics tags; those tags may set third-party cookies. You can block non-essential cookies in your browser without losing access to the product.

How we use it

• To operate the product (log you in, remember your workspace, run detections).
• To send transactional email (welcome, billing receipts, trial reminders, digests).
• To improve the product based on aggregate usage patterns.
• To respond to support requests.
• To comply with legal obligations.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of processors that require access to run the service on our behalf. Each is bound by a data processing agreement.

• Supabase — hosted Postgres, authentication, and file storage.
• Vercel — application hosting.
• Dodo Payments — subscription billing.
• Anthropic — LLM inference for analysis and content generation. We do not send account or billing data to Anthropic; only the source detection artefacts (screenshots, DOM diffs) required for analysis.
• Brevo — transactional email delivery.
• Sentry — error monitoring. Includes redacted stack traces.
• Google Analytics (via Google Tag Manager) — aggregated site usage.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not share your account or billing information with advertisers.

Data we collect about companies you watch or crawl

ABWatcher monitors publicly-accessible web pages of curated companies and, at your direction, sites you own or operate. The content we collect from these pages (screenshots, HTML, network requests) relates to those pages and is used to produce your reports. When we surface it in the product, it is attributed to the source company. This content is treated as public data; we do not attempt to associate it with individuals.

Retention

Account data is retained for as long as your workspace is active, plus a 30-day window after cancellation to allow re-activation. Usage logs are retained for 12 months. Crawl artefacts (screenshots, DOM snapshots) are retained for 24 months.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (GDPR/UK GDPR, CCPA, similar laws), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal data we hold about you, and to object to certain processing. Email privacy@abwatcher.com to make a request; we respond within 30 days.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to production systems is restricted to a small number of employees, requires multi-factor authentication, and is logged. We follow the principle of least privilege.

International transfers

We are based in the European Union and our infrastructure runs in the EU and North America. If you access the product from outside these regions, your data will be transferred to and processed in these regions under appropriate safeguards.

Children

The product is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, please email privacy@abwatcher.com and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

When we make material changes we will update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, notify signed-in users by email or in-app.
